Meet Chef Anilah Thornton

Born and raised in Kansas City, my love for cooking began at just seven years old—standing beside my mom in the kitchen, eager to help prepare meals for our family. Before long, it was me behind the stove, creating dishes that brought everyone together. What I loved most wasn’t just the cooking—it was the joy, the laughter, and the full, happy bellies that followed every meal. Even when I wasn’t sure how a dish would turn out, my family embraced me with love, and that feeling stuck with me.

That early passion lit a fire in me. In 2023, I took the leap and enrolled in culinary school, where I honed my craft and learned what it truly means to be a Chef. Since then, I’ve had the honor of working alongside some of the industry’s most talented chefs in both the Austin area and Horseshoe Bay. Their mentorship and belief in me helped shape not only my technique, but my vision.

Now, I’m building something of my own—a culinary experience that blends passion, nostalgia, and the power of food to bring people together. My goal is to share the same warmth and connection that first inspired me, and create unforgettable meals that feel like home.
